Driving Lessons

This past weekend i got to watch the UK indie film Driving Lessons. It stars Rupert Grint, Julie Walters, and Laura Linney. This movie is somewhat of a remake of the movie Harold and Maude. This movie is about a seventeen year old, Rupert Grint, who comes from a traditional household, that has a domineering mother and quiet father. This film takes place in the summer, where Ben (Grint) is spending his days in bible school, getting driving lessons, and helping his mother. He then gets convinced from his mother to get a job. His job consists of taking care of an old, retired actress Evie (Walters). Evie, a very eccentric and adventurous woman, introduces Ben to a whole new world outside of conformity. At the end of the film, Ben must decide if he wants to be his own person or rather follow his mothers ways.

This film is pretty good, it's one of those films about finding yourself. It is a Comedy/Drama. Julie Walters character in this film is really blunt and sarcastic, which makes it funny. It was nice to see Rupert Grint trying new things outside of the Harry Potter world. Though his character in this film was a bit the same shy kinda of guy. I would reccoment watching it. It'll make you laugh and cry. haha mayb not cry but feel sad.

Evolution of Robin Thicke

I recently just got Robin Thicke's new album, "The Evolution of Robin Thicke". It feautres his most recent single "Lost without you" and also has his callaboration with Pharell "Wanna Love You." The overall quality of the album is really good. Essentially R n B. Something along the lines of Justin Timberlake's style. Even though Justin Timberlakes new album is quite different now, his last album is what most sounds like Robin Thicke's album. I do reccomend to get this CD. The sound of his music is really relaxing with good beats. Thier are equal amounts of slow jams as well as upbeat music you can enjoy.

The first time i had heard of Robin Thicke was through his first single, "When i get you alone." A couple of years after that, he then released another song "Wanna Love You" ft. Pharrell. But it wasn't until his latest single "Lost Without You" that i really took notice of his music. He finally released an album here in the U.S. and so far i've enjoyed it.

La Science des Rêves

hello all, i havent updated for about a month now and i guess it's time to write about another film that i just watched last night!

Orignally, my brothers and i were suppose to catch a world premiere for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Beggining. but unfortuneately we were unable to get there on time to be considered a first come first serve opportunity. There was soo much traffic trying to get the Mann Chinese theater. And once we got there to wait in line, the line was about one block line. a very long block of that indeed. haha so we were like ahh forget it. but yet we did pass by the theater, and i saw the red carpet and all that cool stuff. Looking at the red carpet was exactly how i saw it in the movies, it's pretty amazing. We didn't get to see any celebs, but i guess thats because nobody in the film is really famous. More of the comming out stars. Since we wasted our time rushing to go to the premiere, we decided that we'd just go watch our own movie. and of course i suggested The Science of Sleep. so sure enough after we ate dinner we went to the Laemmle's Theater, or how my brother likes to call it La-meel's. haha

La Science des rêves (The Science of Sleep) This movie was really awesome. I really like indie films, and this was one that i would definetly reccomend for everyone to watch. The director that directed this film also directed the internal sunshine from a spotless mind, and that too was a good movie. It's one of those movies that is wierd and random. The movie is about a guy, Stephane, who moves with his mother because of a job. Through the course of this time, you find that Stephan has a problem with realzing what is real and what is not. Generally, his dream life is threatening his real life. The movie has a lot of special affects to incorporate his dreams. The movie is really odd but interesting too. The genre of this movie is Art/Foreign/Fantasy. It is also a comedy, love story. Throughout the film, i found myself laughing at all the little corky things every character brought. The Special effects were really great too. like how they used animation to interupret exaggeration, or how everything was made out of cardboard boxes. It was really good GO WATCH IT!!
